whole wheat flour
3/4 cup
walnut meats, in large pieces
Instructions

Stir until the sugar dissolves. Add 1/2 cup molasses and 3/4 cup milk.

Sift together 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon salt, 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder, and 3/4 teaspoon baking soda.

Add to the dry ingredients 2 cups whole wheat flour.

Combine the mixtures. Stir in 3/4 cup walnut meats, in large pieces.

Spoon into two buttered pans 9 by 5 inches.

Bake 2 hours at 275°F.
