The Best Banana Bread
Ingredients
1/2 cup
unsalted butter
1 3/4 cups
all-purpose flour
1 cup
pecans, chopped
1/2 cup
granulated sugar
1 teaspoon
baking soda
1 teaspoon
ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon
salt
1/4 teaspoon
grated nutmeg

large eggs
1/4 cup
buttermilk
1/2 cup
light brown sugar
1 teaspoon
vanilla extract

ripe bananas, mashed
Instructions
STEP 1
Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease one loaf pan.
STEP 2
Whisk flour, pecans, sugar, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg in a large bowl.
STEP 3
In a medium bowl, whisk eggs, melted butter, buttermilk, brown sugar, and vanilla; stir in bananas.
STEP 4
Fold banana mixture into flour mixture until just combined.
STEP 5
Pour batter into the pan and tap on the counter.
STEP 6
Bake until golden and a toothpick comes out clean, about 1 hour. Cool for 10 minutes in pan, then transfer to a rack.
