Strawberry Spoon Cake

unsalted butter, melted

strawberries, hulled
2/3 cup
light brown sugar
1/2 cup
whole milk
1/2 teaspoon
kosher salt

all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon
baking powder

Instructions
STEP 1
Heat oven to 350 degrees and grease an 8-inch baking dish with butter. Set aside.
STEP 2
Mash the berries to release juices and stir in 1/3 cup brown sugar. Set aside.
STEP 3
In a bowl, whisk melted butter, remaining brown sugar, milk, and salt, then add flour and baking powder until smooth.
STEP 4
Transfer the batter to the greased baking dish and spread evenly.
STEP 5
Spoon strawberries and their juices over the batter. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
STEP 6
Cool for 3 to 5 minutes before serving warm with ice cream.
