Spiced Meatballs with Tomato Sauce
Ingredients
1 pound
ground beef
1/2 cup
breadcrumbs

egg
3 cloves
garlic
1/4 cup
parsley
1 teaspoon
salt
1/2 teaspoon
black pepper
1 teaspoon
Italian seasoning
2 tablespoons
olive oil
1 onion
chopped onion
28 ounces
crushed tomatoes
1 teaspoon
sugar
Instructions
STEP 1
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and spices until well mixed.,
STEP 2
Shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and set aside.,
STEP 3
In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and brown the meatballs on all sides for about 8 minutes.,
STEP 4
Remove the meatballs from the skillet and set aside.,
STEP 5
In the same skillet, add chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.,
STEP 6
Add crushed tomatoes, sugar, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Stir and let simmer for 10 minutes.,
STEP 7
Add the browned meatballs back into the skillet with the sauce and cook for an additional 15 minutes, until the meatballs are cooked through.,
STEP 8
Serve the meatballs over cooked pasta or with crusty bread.
