Quick steamed treacle pudding

Instructions
STEP 1
Grease a 1-litre pudding basin evenly with the butter. Drizzle in the golden syrup, going up and down the sides.,
STEP 2
Place the egg, baking powder, ground ginger and sugar into a large mixing bowl.,
STEP 3
Finely grate in the orange zest, squeeze in the juice and beat together, then slowly stir in the milk and vanilla extract. Mix in the flour, suet and a pinch of sea salt until it comes together.,
STEP 4
Pour the mixture into the basin, then cover with greaseproof paper, tying it in place with string.,
STEP 5
Cook in the microwave on a medium heat (750W) for 12 minutes. Let it stand for 10 minutes before turning out.,
STEP 6
Delicious served with an extra drizzle of hot golden syrup and a dollop of cream or custard.
