Overnight Brown-Butter Yeast-Raised Waffles

instant dry yeast
1/4 teaspoon
baking soda

Instructions
STEP 1
Melt butter in a saucepan until golden brown. Stir in sugar, salt, and milk. Add egg, sift in flour, then stir in yeast and baking soda. Cover and refrigerate overnight (12 to 18 hours).
STEP 2
Preheat waffle iron to medium. Grease if necessary. For 8-inch square iron, use half of the batter. Cook until golden brown, about 5 to 7 minutes. Hold cooked waffles in a 200°F oven while cooking more.
STEP 3
Serve immediately with maple syrup, optional lemon chantilly, and strawberries.
