Instructions
STEP 1
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease and flour a 9-inch tube pan or two 9x13-inch loaf pans.
STEP 2
Boil water, raisins, molasses, sugar, and shortening in a saucepan; reduce heat and simmer until raisins are plump, about 5 minutes. Allow to cool.
STEP 3
Whisk flour, baking soda, and cinnamon together. Stir into raisin mixture until combined; pour into prepared pan.
STEP 4
Bake until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean, about 1 hour.
