Maple Walnut Biscotti
Ingredients
3.5 cups
all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon
baking powder
1/2 teaspoon
salt
1/2 cup
butter, softened
1/2 cup
white sugar
2
eggs
1/2 cup
maple syrup
1 teaspoon
maple extract
1 cup
chopped walnuts
1/4 cup
maple syrup
1 tablespoon
melted butter
3/4 cup
confectioners' sugar
Instructions
STEP 1
Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
STEP 2
Sift flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
STEP 3
Beat butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs, maple syrup, and maple extract. Stir in flour mixture and fold in walnuts.
STEP 4
Divide dough in half; shape into logs. Flatten to 3 inches wide and 1 inch tall.
STEP 5
Bake until lightly browned and slightly cracked, about 30 minutes. Cool 15 minutes, keeping oven on.
STEP 6
Slice logs diagonally into 1/2-inch thick slices. Lay on sides on the baking sheet.
STEP 7
Bake until lightly browned and crisp, about 8 minutes. Cool for a few minutes.
STEP 8
Combine maple syrup and melted butter. Stir in confectioners' sugar until smooth. Drizzle over warm biscotti.
