Sauté 1 medium chopped onion in 1 tablespoon of salad oil until translucent.
STEP 2
Add the following ingredients: 2 (14 oz) cans of tomatoes, 1 teaspoon of basil, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1/2 teaspoon of sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon of oregano. Simmer until mixed well, about 10 minutes.
STEP 3
Cook 2 (8 oz) packages of macaroni according to package directions until al dente.
STEP 4
In a large bowl, combine the cooked macaroni with the tomato sauce mixture and 2 cups of cubed cheese (like cheddar).
STEP 5
Mix well and place in a 2 to 3-quart casserole dish. Dot with 2 tablespoons of butter.
