Easy Pot Roast
Ingredients
1 4 pound
chuck roast
4 teaspoons
kosher salt
2 1/2 teaspoons
pepper
2 teaspoons
garlic powder
2 Tablespoons
oil
1 medium
onion, chopped
2 stalks
celery, chopped
4
carrots, peeled and chopped
2 Tablespoons
butter
2 1/2 Tablespoons
flour
2 cups
water
2 teaspoons
beef bouillon paste
1 1/2 Tablespoons
tomato paste
1 Tablespoon
Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
STEP 1
Preheat oven to 325°F. Season roast with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
STEP 2
Heat oil in a Dutch oven. Brown roast on all sides, then remove.
STEP 3
Add onion, celery, and carrots to drippings; cook until softened.
STEP 4
Add butter and flour; stir for 1 minute, then add remaining ingredients.
STEP 5
Return roast to the pot. Simmer, cover, and remove from heat.
STEP 6
Bake for about 2.5 hours until tender. Rest for 10 minutes before serving.
