Copycat Zuppa Toscana
Ingredients
4 strips
bacon
1 pound
Italian sausage
4 to 5 large
russet potatoes
3 cloves
garlic
1 large
white onion
1 pinch
crushed red pepper flakes
to taste
kosher salt
to taste
black pepper
6 cups
chicken broth
6 cups
curly kale
3/4 cup
heavy cream
1 teaspoon
white wine vinegar
Instructions
STEP 1
Cook bacon in Dutch oven until crisp.
STEP 2
Add sausage to drippings and cook until brown.
STEP 3
Stir in potatoes, garlic, and onion; cook until soft.
STEP 4
Add crushed red pepper, salt, and pepper.
STEP 5
Pour in chicken broth; bring to a boil.
STEP 6
Lower heat and simmer until potatoes are tender.
STEP 7
Mix in kale, cream, bacon, and sausage; heat through.
STEP 8
Stir in vinegar just before serving.
