Sauce (ketchup, mayo, etc.)
Instructions
STEP 1
Preheat your grill or stovetop pan to medium heat (about 350°F).
STEP 2
In a large bowl, combine 1 can of drained black beans, 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs, 1/4 cup of finely chopped onion, 1/4 cup of corn, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of cumin, and salt and pepper to taste.
STEP 3
Mash the mixture with a fork until well combined but still chunky.
STEP 4
Form the mixture into 4 patties.
STEP 5
Lightly oil the grill or pan and cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, until they are golden brown and heated through.
STEP 6
Toast the whole wheat buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes.
STEP 7
Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on each bun and topping with lettuce, tomato slices, and your favorite sauce.
