Classic Chocolate Cake

Instructions
STEP 1
Preheat oven to 350°F. Butter and flour two round cake pans, lining bottoms with parchment paper.
STEP 2
Combine sugar and water in a saucepan, boil, and stir until sugar dissolves. Add chocolate and butter; let sit while stirring until melted.
STEP 3
Beat eggs into chocolate mixture. Add dry ingredients and mix until smooth. Divide batter into pans and bake for about 25 minutes.
STEP 4
Cool cakes in pans for 25 minutes, then turn out onto a rack to cool completely. Frost as desired.
