Instructions
STEP 1
Preheat oven to 350°F and prepare cake pans.
STEP 2
Cream together brown sugar and butter. Add vanilla and eggs.
STEP 3
Mix dry ingredients in a bowl, alternate with buttermilk in batter.
STEP 4
Bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes clean.
STEP 5
Cool layers, then prepare icing by boiling sugar, butter, milk, and flour.
STEP 6
Spread icing over layered cake after it thickens.
