Basic Mashed Potatoes

baking potatoes
3 cloves
garlic
1 cup
milk
2 tablespoons
butter
to taste
salt

Instructions

Boil salted water in a large pot. Add potatoes and garlic. Simmer until potatoes are tender, about 15 to 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, heat milk and butter in a small saucepan over low heat until the butter melts.

Drain potatoes and return them to the pot. Slowly add the warm milk mixture while mashing until smooth and creamy.
