Apple Cheddar Twists
Ingredients
2 large
apples
1 tablespoon
lemon juice
1 tablespoon
butter
2 tablespoons
brown sugar
1 (14-ounce) package
puff pastry
6 ounces
cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon
coarse sea salt
Instructions
STEP 1
Grate apples into a bowl, add lemon juice.
STEP 2
In a pan, melt butter with brown sugar. Add apples.
STEP 3
Cook until apples are browned and liquid evaporates, about 5 minutes. Cool, then refrigerate until cold.
STEP 4
Separate puff pastry into 4 rectangles. Place apple mix on 2, spread evenly.
STEP 5
Top with 2 ounces of cheddar on each, save some cheese for later. Cover with remaining rectangles and flatten.
STEP 6
Freeze for 10 to 15 minutes.
STEP 7
Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Prepare a baking sheet.
STEP 8
Cut each rectangle into 6 strips. Twist and place on prepared sheet. Top with remaining cheese and salt.
STEP 9
Bake until golden brown and puffy, 25 to 30 minutes.
