Ingredients
1 pound
ground round
1 cup
yellow onion, chopped
2 teaspoons
garlic, minced
1/4 cup
beef broth
1 tablespoon
apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon
brown sugar
1 tablespoon
Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon
kosher salt
1 teaspoon
soy sauce
1 teaspoon
yellow mustard
1/4 teaspoon
black pepper
1 box
frozen Texas Toast
8 ounces
triple cheddar cheese blend
to taste
pickle chips
Instructions
1
Heat a large skillet over medium-high. Cook ground beef and onion until browned, about 8 minutes. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
2
Whisk together broth, vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire, salt, soy sauce, mustard, and pepper in a small bowl.
3
Stir broth mixture into skillet and cook, stirring often, until sauce has reduced slightly, about 2 minutes. Remove from heat.
4
Arrange toasts on a baking sheet. Bake until crisp, 8 to 9 minutes.
5
Press a large spoon into the center of each toast to create a well. Spoon about 1/4 cup of meat mixture into each well. Top with cheese.
6
Return baking sheet to oven and bake until cheese is melted, about 5 minutes.
7
Serve immediately with pickle chips.
